Bathtub Refinishing Dallas |Price List Below
Just as the cost of most goods and services fluctuate from city to city and from State to State. You will find the same holds true in the bathtub refinishing Industry. However, the problem is the technology behind bathtub refinishing has changed thru the years and other refinishers want to hang on to the old technology they are comfortable with because learning application procedures for new technology is risky and time consuming. An example of this would be Epoxy. I know it is still being sold in home improvement stores and that gets me on a whole other rant because ... (okay quick rant...since you asked) Epoxy is a 2 part mixture. Equal ratio's I know this well! It's the only choice we had in 1991 for bathtub refinishing. So why is the store bought epoxy a one can solution? Usually a spray can. If you have ever used epoxy glue you will know what I mean when I say you would mix it and pray for just a little extra time before it hardened up! Have you ever seen epoxy glue already mixed on the store shelf? No, unless it has a divider separating the two chemicals and they mix when they are ready to be used. Epoxy putty the same way it looks like a stick of clay but you break it and roll it together to mix with the separate chemical so it activates and heats up then you have maybe 10 minutes before it is useless. So my question is how can a single spray can be labeled "EPOXY REFINISHING" then say "allow 3-5 days to dry. Which, I'm thinking how much dust, hair other airborne things are stuck to that surface in 3 days? Plus, Epoxy was a failure in our Industry limiting us to apartments and hotels that needed a quick fix to last until the lease was over so everything could be freshened up again. The wall paint was watered down, builders grade carpet was used... I'm not belittling the Apartment communities I understand why they did that. I'm just saying it is not RESIDENTIAL QUALITY. The reason Epoxy was replaced was because it would yellow when it came in contact with bleach, It had a painted look and it was a paint. It was painted on top of the old surface.
